Today, Biita Houdei announces her debut album under her familial gifted name that means “unique” in Farsi. This Bed Was Made For Me, out September 18th, is a striking collection of Biita Houdei’s (pronounced “bee-tah who-day”) stirring, signature folk songs, brought into fruition with the help of fellow songwriter Haley Heynderickx, in her first lead production role, and the album’s producer/engineer Sahil Ansari.
Also sharing today is the album's second single, "The Ground Here," featuring Big Thief's Buck Meek. Written during her years in Topanga Canyon, it moves at an unhurried, conversational pace, longing for seasonal change, natural abundance, and the kinds of places that shape us long after we've left them.
This Bed Was Made For Me can be pre-ordered on heavy weight 180g black vinyl housed in a gatefold jacket and on CD/digital.
