Mia June is sharing another song from her debut EP, Don't Forget Your Bags, out November 17th. Musically, "Freckled Friend Forever" is one of the more tranquil songs of the collection, which creates space for Mia's tender vocals.
"This song is about waiting too long to let someone know your feelings about them as you want ‘the perfect time’ to tell them, and then going to tell them and realizing the time has passed and you are too late," June explains. "I wrote it when I was 17 during my first weekend away without my family, at Nannup Music Festival. I have always had a soft spot for this song and its gentleness."
Previously, Mia shared "Melbourne" with its official music video and "Cooking Oil", a song about misdirected anger within a relationship.
Mia will celebrate Don't Forget Your Bags with release shows in her hometown of Perth, Albany, and Melbourne this November. She has also announced a Bandcamp Listening Party on November 15 at 7pm PST/10pm EST.
