Mia June Covers mui zyu for F/D Fifteen Series

Mia June Covers mui zyu for F/D Fifteen Series

In 2010, Father/Daughter Records was born out of a simple idea that independent music thrives when artists are given space to take risks, experiment, and build community. To mark its 15th anniversary, the label invited current artists and longtime alumni to draw from the catalog and recast the songs in their own light. F/D Fifteen is a project that doubles as a love letter to the label’s past and future.

For the sixth installment, Australia's Mia June shares her gripping take on mui zyu’s “everything to die for." Mia's languid, slow-danced guitar hums softly, carrying the weight of the song while retaining the ethereal underglow of the original. miu zyu's shadowed electronic textures' edges are softened into something tender in Mia's hushed, delicate yet sturdy vocal reflection.

"everything to die for" follows mui zyu's cover of Shamir, Anna McClellan's retake of Esther Rose, Anjimile's rendition of Pickle Darling, Pure Bathing Culture's magical take of The Softies, and Lisa Prank's tender version of Happy Diving. The last F/D Fifteen song arrives December 4th.
